Don Upchurch, General Operations
Manager, Scale Systems
dupchurch@bdindustrial.com
At 45 years, Don boasts the longest tenure with B&D Industrial of any management
team member. A member of B&D Industrial's Million Dollar Sales Club, his career
encompasses 18 years in Bearings and Power Transmission sales prior to being
the principal pioneer in the startup of B&D's Scale Systems division.
After B&D achieved distributor status for Toledo Scales in 1978, Don pushed forward
with this new venture for the company. Eight years later, Scale Systems was incorporated
as a division of B&D and has grown to be one of the top four Mettler-Toledo
distributors in the country. Don's penchant for industrial scales and vision
for this organic expansion from Bearings and Drives is largely responsible for
Scale Systems' tremendous success today.
He enjoys being at home with his wife, Donnie, but has trouble staying away from
the office. He continues to be the backbone of the Scale Systems operation and
remains one of B&D Industrial's most dedicated employees.
